Just submitted by one of our stellar California GEAR UP Merced, CA schools:

This is one of our activities. Our Counselor set up an activity school wide for students to investigate GEAR UP. This crossword puzzle was up in our gym where students could see it and decorated by college logos our students created. Students were encouraged to pick up a flyer with directions and complete the crossword to win a pizza lunch with the Principal. The activity was based in raising awareness of GEAR UP and its presence on campus!

Rivera MS in Merced, CA recently shared some great pictures of their GEAR UP Dream Wall. On National GEAR UP Day, Rivera students wrote a college or career related dream on a post-it note and discussed with their classes. They then walked to the gym and posted their dream with the entire student body on the Dream Wall. A powerful message when you see the wall and all of the dreams together.

Rivera Middle School in Merced, CA is celebrating National GEAR UP Day by having a dream wall in their gym. All day on Friday, September 18 students will be talking about their college and career dreams in class and walking down to the gym and placing them on the wall.
